Outplayed and desperate - and with no legal recourse - the three would-be entrepreneurs put their heads together and hatch a misguided scheme to kidnap the investor's adult son, Rex (Chris Pine), and ransom him. However, things go sour when a bigwig investor played by Christoph Waltz pulls the rug out from under them, leaving the guys half a mil in debt. In Horrible Bosses 2, Nick, Kurt and Dale are fed up with answering to higher-ups and decide to become their own bosses by launching a startup business. So it probably goes without saying that the cards were stacked against the sequel before it even began. ![]() ![]() In addition to working on questionable comedies like We're the Millers and Dumb and Dumber To, these guys also rewrote the original script (penned by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein) shortly before production began. Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon didn't return for this one, leaving director Sean Anders and producer John Morris to pick up the sequel. ![]() To be fair, this was probably the result of the movie losing its original creative team.
